About

Hi! I’m Kelsey. (She/Her/Hers)

Queer Montanan. 6’1″. Virgo. Auntie. Doula. Sexuality Education Professional. Executive Coordinator. Expert Side-Hustler. Adventurous Homebody.

I started my doula path after unknowingly being my sister’s birth doula during both of my nephew’s births in 2006 and 2008. I had never heard of a doula at that time! In 2011, I helped create the DC Doulas for Choice Collective and became a trained abortion doula through the Doula Project. My passion for birth justice was ignited while volunteering as an abortion doula, and I became a trained birth doula through DONA in 2012 and a trained postpartum doula in 2018 through Carriage House Birth.

Over the last decade I have worked as the State Strategy Coordinator for the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS), the Public Policy Associate for the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), and the Training Coordinator for the Transgender Training Institute. I also became a certified Gynecologic Teaching Associate (GTA), an Online Course Instructor for Answer’s LGBTQ Issues in Schools and Relationship Skills for Teens workshops, a Sex and Relationships Coach for Juicebox, and a nanny for two of the most amazing children in the world.

My understanding of social justice is grounded in the belief that every person has an innate worthiness and is deserving of safety, dignity, love, and support—and every person can help actualize that vision for others. I describe myself as an adventurous homebody, and enjoy eating delicious vegan food, connecting with family and friends all over the world, and bingeing on TV shows and podcasts.

I’m really glad to be here.
